Who has two thumbs and is struggling to change their unhealthy ways?

Bad habits sure are hard to break. Last night, I caught myself in the kitchen looking for a snack at around 8 p.m., and the only reason was boredom. I resisted ... this time!
I did take the stairs again today. It wasn't any easier than yesterday.
Stay strong everyone! Get through these first couple of weeks and it will get easier (I hope!!).

I've been wanting to get started and after reading The EBD Buzz, I walked on my treadmill last night and this morning. I am going to do as you are: watch what I eat, eat smaller portions, and walk on my treadmill (listening to audio books)and keeping in touch with others who have joined 10 in 10. I need to lose 17 lbs and I am keeping in mind the goal of "spending more years with my grandchildren." Come on everyone, we can do this.
Good luck to all that has joined!!! Not only am I trying to lose weight but trying to control my surgar diabetes. Just found out late Oct. of 2009 that I had a sugar problem. Looking for everyone's support on my journey.
Okay Doug, I have jouned as of tonight.
My BMI is much higher than yours and I am much older than you. But, I plan to stay with it to make my life easier in many respects.
We have grand kids with munchies avaialable for them that is tempting for me.
My plan is to drink much more water and drink less diet pepsi and eat four times a day with much less portions than the usual two to three times a day plus a late night snack. Along with a walking program.

Yes, I too have grandchildren. I don't expect to put on the bikini again, but I would like to take my grandchildren to the lake home and enjoy the lake activities. I refuse to be the one left at home to prepare lunch while everyone else is out on the lake having fun. I want to be able to walk to dock, have fun, and make memories with the rest of my family! This is the year I am going to do it! If we pray and count our calories surely we can all lose 10% of our starting weight! Pray for us all.
