Girl Scout Cookie Time!

And yes, I bought a "few" boxes (more than four and less than six). However, believe it or not, they are not just for me. A couple of them are for my mom.

Despite my addiction to Samoas, I got on the scale Saturday just for kicks. To be very honest, I have not been as dilligent with my diet as I should be. However, I have been sticking with my core changes - healthier lunches, taking the stairs or walking more and no snacking at night.

My weight - 241. I'm actually down a pound from when I weighed about 10 days ago. So that puts me 11 down officially since we began in January. I have really slowed down as far as the amount I lose per week, but I'm still on track!

On March 14, the time springs forward, and I'm pretty excited about that. I love Daylight Savings Time because I love to get out of the house in the evening. My wife and I are already planning a family walk when we get home (by the way, that idea came from a comment on this blog!). I am not a morning person, whether the sun is up or not, and I have no problem driving to work before sunrise (I did it all Winter anyway).

So, I'm still losing weight and I've got an exercise program right around the corner. All is well!

Counting calories is time consuming but is a great way to get your weight down. My husband needs to drop about 20 lbs and since Thurs 2/11 I've been counting calories for him and measuring out portions. He's already lost 11 lbs in less than two weeks. We've even eaten out twice. It's work though. I research the restaurant, find foods we are interested in, work out the calories (there are several websites available) and we share the meal which immediately cuts the calories in half for each of us.

Check out http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/recipe_analysis.php. You type in a recipe and it gives you the breakdown. You even get to pick how many it serves (1, 2 etc.). Great tool!

That is okay Doug. I bought a couple of boxes myself. I bought the Dosidos (Peanut Butter) and the Trefoils(Short Bread). I shared, though very possessive of the Dosidos. I have went down close to 15lbs since the last week of Dec since I started my change. It has slowed down for me too. But i will be getting back on the ball. Especially after reading the previous cartoon comment ...aav
