It's Hot

Man is it hot outside!

This is crazy for June. The weather folks are saying it might hit 102 degrees today in some parts of the state. That is nuts! Do I dread August!

So what does this mean for my healthy journey. It means I have two choices. I can simply avoid the heat all together and try to do some indoor exercise at the house, which I'm never very good at.

Or, I can suck it up and head outside into the brutal heat. I will definitely sweat off some weight, but I'm afraid I might pass out. Yesterday at my house, it was 95 degrees at 7:45 p.m.

I think I might try to take my walk around the block right has the sun goes down tonight. That makes for a late exercise session (around 8:30 p.m.), but it is bearable then, and I like that time of night anyway.

Any good ideas about working out without passing out?

Drink lots and lots and lots of water...and then drink more water! Helps with headaches and dizziness in this heat. That being said, I have opted to stay in the house and EAT the last few days. Boo Hoo. Lost 10 pounds before our Florida vacation the first of June and gained some back during my "I'm On Strike Cause of This Heat" isolation in my own home! Plus, I'm a teacher...and I have ALWAYS used that excuse for my summer weight gain...NO MORE EXCUSES! Water, Walking and Watching What I WANT to eat. Keep up the blogging, Doug...we are still here!!! At least I am...trudging slowly but surely toward my October goal of 10 pounds gone forever. Thanks for all your hard work and honest commentary you have been willing to share throughout your journey.

Have any of you tried the recipes on this site? I've tried a lot of them and they are pretty good. I'm not much of a gourmet eater; being from the south, I like good old southern cooking. Of the recipes I've tried, I've really liked them. Oven Fried Chicken isn't Southern Fried by any stretch but it's very tasty and much healthier. If you haven't tried them, you should.
